The Royal Bank Assists Young Madrid Football Club

The Royal Bank has presented three sets of Jerseys with Hoses, three sets of Training Vests, 20 branded Polo Shirts and five footballs to Young Madrid Football Club. The Club is located at Kwashieman in Accra. This was after the bank has received a request from the Young Madrid colts football club, made up of under 13s, 15s and 17, for logistics support.

Making the presentation, Deputy Managing Director, Retail Banking of the Bank, Mr Charles Otoo, explained that The Royal Bank by giving a helping hand to the Young Madrid FC, is enough indication that the bank shows interest in what the club is doing by taking young people to shape up their footballing talents in the country and also prevent them from ending up on the streets. He challenged the boys not to be happy with only wearing football Jerseys instead, they should set targets with how many goals they want to score, how many assists, great passing of the ball , tackles or blockings they are going to make to help their team succeed. He admonished them to take their education seriously Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs of the Royal Bank, Dr Kwame Baah Nuakoh, Showed admiration for the club’s honesty when they returned an earlier sponsorship money to the bank, because they could not embark on a planned trto Togo to participate in an under 15 competition for the promotion of Drugs, HIV/AIDS and Peace Awareness tournament in 2013. He said it was a rare display of honesty.

The Team Manager of Young Madrid Football Club, Napoleon Baah-Mintah lamented they had been using the earlier kits  The Royal Bank bought for them  three years ago which are  almost faded, adding the assistance from the Bank again  has come at a very good time. Young Madrid Football Club was founded in 2002. Currently the club has over 70 juvenile players and competes in the Ga South Juvenile Football League.
