The Royal Bank donates GHC 10,000 to Physically Challenged Action Foundation posted: 2015-01-08 16:10:00
The Royal Bank has presented a cheque for Ten Thousand Ghana cedis (GHC 10,000) to the Physically Challenged Action Foundation at Offinso in the Ashanti Region. The donation was in fulfillment of a promise made by the Bank to the Board Chairman - Dr. K. K Sarpong, as part of his wish to make a donation to a charity of his choice during his 60th birthday celebrations. Presenting the cheque to the Foundation, The Head of Strategic Planning, Research and Corporate Affairs of The Royal Bank, Dr. Kwame Baah-Nuakoh said that “The donation was in line with the objectives of TRB Foundation (The Corporate Social Responsibility arm of the Bank) of supporting communities in the areas of health and education and was therefore optimistic that it would be put to good use". Dr. Baah-Nuakoh, who is also a member of the Board of Trustees of TRB Foundation gave the assurance that PCAF would not be left out in the TRB Foundation's efforts at providing 50 boreholes to 50 communities in a year.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the Physically Challenged Action Foundation, Mr Barima Antwi, the owner of the Center, applauded The Royal Bank for its kind gesture and assured the Bank that the money will be put to good use for PCAF. He also called for support from other organizations and individuals to support the center and its affiliate center at Nkenkansu, also in the Ashanti Region.
PCAF is a non - governmental educational institution based in Offinso in the Ashanti Region. The PCAF is aimed at supporting and empowering physically challenged people who have no other forms of support in society to develop necessary skills to live independent lives. PCAF also runs the Physically Challenged Training and Rehabilitation Centre at Offinso.
