The Royal Bank will expand its branch network to 26 branches in six regions by the end of 2015. According to the Head of Finance of the Royal Bank, David Okyere Nyarkoh, the move is to ensure many people in the country get the chance to experience its first class banking services. The expansion will cover the Brong Ahafo, Northern, Central and Western Regions.
Mr. Nyarkoh made the remarks after The Royal Bank was adjudged the Best Growing Bank at the just ended 13th Ghana Banking Awards held at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra. He reiterated the bank's commitment to providing excellent services to its clients and called on the general public to patronize the products and services of the Bank.
Commenting on the financial performance of the Bank, he said, "This is the first time the Bank has operated a full financial year since its establishment in December 2012, so being adjudged the Best Growing Bank amongst 27 banks, is a great honour, and this was due to the efficient and effective financial policies put in place by the Board and Management of the Bank". According to Mr. Okyere Nyarko, the Bank posted a profit before tax of GHS13,127,915.00 in its first year of operations in 2013, an achievement considered unprecedented in the Banking industry in Ghana.
He further emphasized "The ultimate objective of the Bank is to become a reference point for standard practice in the industry and in our quest to achieve that, the Bank is always looking for innovative ways to delight our customers". This is the second award the Bank is receiving this year, having previously been awarded 'The New Era Award for Technology, Innovation and Quality' by the Otherways Consulting Group in Rome, Italy in June.
Mr. Okyere Nyarko thanked customers for their excellent relationship with the Bank and called on potential customers to also join the train to experience the real difference in banking. "We are very grateful to our customers and by extension all our stakeholders for the roles they have played in bringing us to this level" - he stressed.
The Royal Bank is a wholly owned Ghanaian Bank which started operations in December, 2012. The Bank currently has Fifteen (15) branches spread across Accra, Tema, Kumasi, and Sefwi Asawinso in the Western Region.
